I lost count of how many times I corrected this. Have finally decided that I am done and moving on to a new painting, afraid I’ll ruin it forever if I try to correct it even more. But anyway, I had this one laying around for weeks and weeks. Kept stalling on it because I’ve been feeling like a puddle, which unfortunately held me back rather than inspired me to do things. I wasn’t like that brilliant musician who wrote a song every time a lady or a gentleman stomped on their heart and fed it to the dogs. Some say those musicians are whiny, but I say they’re productive. On the bright side, in that time period where I wasn’t painting much, I drew a lot of cats. Maybe I was trying to fill that empty space in me that’s longing for a puppy or a kitten. Mom hates animals.

Then this week I finally watched Black Swan and came across Saul Leiter’s work, was completely blown away by both and felt the need to create something too. Oh and congrats to Natalie Portman (yes I’m late.) I kept wishing for Michelle Williams in Blue Valentine to win, but both performances are fantastic.
